Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after that period of that year.
Success also means he has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to question if his ability to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He defended 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
