Automobiles in Germany's City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police mentioned they were alerted by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Police then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report preliminary tests show the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they added.

Local authorities said they were trying "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for details.

A high-ranking political figure commented the attack rendered him without words and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
